FOOD

Our small, but varied café-restaurant style menu offers something for everyone. When in Savonlinna you really must try the local dish ‘Muikku’, these small white fish are caught from the nearby Lake Saimaa, fried with rye flour and butter, and served with Pekka’s fresh creamed potatoes, or try our delicious creamy salmon soup

CAFÉ

As soon as you walk in through the front door, you are surrounded by the very welcoming atmosphere and the smell of freshly ground coffee and baked hot pastries. If coffee is not your cup of tea (pun intended), we have an extensive range of loose leaf teas. There are always several plain or flavoured black teas, green teas, rooibos, mate and fruit infusion teas to choose from. In addition we offer hot chocolates with cream, fruit juices and other beverages such as hot mulled wine or traditional Finnish glögi in the cold winter months, to homemade chilled ice tea in the summer months.

AFTERNOON TEA

Come and experience a delicious
Traditional Afternoon Tea in the idyllic setting of Café Saima!

Our English chef, David, will bake fresh plain scones with homemade fruit jam and he will also prepare a variety of traditional finger sandwiches for you to enjoy.

MEETINGS & EVENTS

Whether you are looking for a venue for a family celebration or occasion, a working lunch or just a small meeting, you can select a served menu, a traditional Finnish buffet or a lighter buffet of different home made pastries and cakes. We have 4 different size interconnecting rooms to cater for small or large groups, all of which vary in decor and atmosphere with views either to the Olavinlinna castle, lake Saimaa or the old town.
